High efficiency for compact power supplies
Omron has extended its range of power supplies with the launch of the S8PE - a powerful, high efficiency, new line of 3-phase power supplies designed for industrial applications.
When closed, the whole assembly sits just 0.9mm above the board.
It complements the existing XF2B style, also on 0.3mm pitch, but accepting 0.2mm thick cable and offering a profile of 1.2mm.
The Omron range of FPC connectors also includes ZIF and easy to assemble rotary backlock styles on 0.5mm.
Both the XF2M and the XF2R are based on a rotary backlock, featuring double sided contacts to further improve assembly efficiency and reliability.
Where a ZIF solution is required, Omron offers the compact XF2L with the smallest onboard area and volume in the industry, and the vertical XF2J features a small footprint with a height of just 4.15mm.
A unique feature of Omron FPC connectors is the rotary cable locking mechanism, which allows the connector to be delivered with the slider open.
This reduces the number of actions required to insert and lock the FPC, and hence the assembly time per product.
Closing the slider after cable insertion does not alter the location of the FPC.
The rotary slider is also resistant to lifting if force is applied to the FPC, preventing the cable and connector from separating if excess force is applied to the cable.
