PCB relays have quick-connect contact
terminals
Quick-connect terminals on PCB relays allow load current up to 16A to be directly routed through the relay's contacts, eliminating the need for large PCB traces.
Omron Electronics has available the G2RL-1ATP series of power PCB relays with 0.25in (6.3mm) external quick-connect contact-load terminals In the past large traces were required on the PCB to handle the 16A @ 250V AC/24V DC load the relay is capable of switching

High efficiency for compact power supplies
Omron has extended its range of power supplies with the launch of the S8PE - a powerful, high efficiency, new line of 3-phase power supplies designed for industrial applications.
The use of quick-connect terminals, which are integral to the relay's lead frame, allows the load current to be directly routed through the relay's contacts, eliminating the need for large PCB traces.
Routing the load current in this manner reduces heat generated on the PCB, thereby helping designers to meet agency requirements most notably when switching heating elements in appliance applications.
The G2RL-1ATP is in a 12.6 x 32.5 x 15.9mm flux-protected thru-hole package with a dielectric strength of 5,000V AC (coil-contact) and 1,000V AC (between open contacts).
The efficient coil operates with just 400mW of power and has a class-F coil insulation system.
These relays are UL, CSA, and VDE approved and deliver a minimum of 50,000 operations while switching 16A at 250V AC (resistive) in an ambient temperature of 105C.
"Keeping the large currents off of the control PCB helps OEMs meet required regulatory specifications and also lessens the degradation of the system by reducing the heat-related stress that PCB traces have experienced in the past", says Cami Marsh of Omron Electronics.
Cost for G2RL-1ATP relays is US $1.993 in 5,000 piece quantities.
Delivery is stock to 8 weeks.
