Omron Electronics has brought out the EE-SX1 series of non-amplified, slotted phototransistors in a fixed "U-shaped" housing carrying both the emitter and detector which provides excellent alignment and aiming These photomicrosensors detect the presence of an object without direct contact and are available in three mounting styles: SMD, through-hole PCB, and panel mount with connector

High efficiency for compact power supplies
Omron has extended its range of power supplies with the launch of the S8PE - a powerful, high efficiency, new line of 3-phase power supplies designed for industrial applications.
They are available in a package as small as 3.0 x 3.0 x 3.4mm with slots ranging from 1 to 5mm.
High resolution is realised through their narrow aperture width of 0.15 to 0.5 mm.
The EE-SX1 infra-red LED and phototransistor design ensure long-life.
Typically, the SMD version operates in a temperature range of -30 to +85C, the through-hole version from -25 to +85C, and the panel-mount version from -20 to +70C.
Flexibility in design of the EE-SX1 series allows Omron to customise easily per customer requirements including light intensity, termination options, and package configurations.
This series of photomicrosensors is suitable for low-dust, humidity, and light-interference applications such as utility meters, ATMs and other money handling equipment, office automation, computer peripherals and gaming.
"The small size and high reliability of these photomicrosensors coupled with Omron's flexibility of providing drop-in assemblies deliver OEMs attractive solutions to help improve the quality of the customer's end product", says Cami Marsh, Marketing Communications Coordinator of Omron Electronic Components LLC.
In quantities of 10,000 pieces, the price ranges from $.50 to $1.10 (depending on the model) and delivery is stock to 10 weeks.
