Omnetics releases polarised nano connectors

Omnetics Connector is offering a series of miniature polarised nano connectors for military, aerospace, defence and medical applications where size and weight are critical.

The insulators are designed to hold one row of pins and one row of sockets, which polarises the connector without the space normally required for guide pins.

Gary Evans, European sales manager, said: 'These connectors prevent mismating and save space and weight in critical applications such as military avionics and satellite systems, ensuring signal integrity even in conditions where high shock and vibration are present.

'They are able to withstand temperatures from -55C to +125C (200C with high temperature epoxy).' Available in 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 position sizes, these polarised devices are on a 0.635mm (0.025in) pitch spacing and feature gold-plated contacts.

Rated at 1A per contact, with a maximum contact resistance of 25mohm (71mV) at 1A, the connectors feature an insulation resistance of 5000Mohm minimum at 100V DC.

The insulator material is thermoplastic polyester, type GLCP-30F to MIL-M-24519, while sockets are made of copper alloy and pins are beryllium copper.

Termination options include pre-wiring, straight tail, horizontal surface mount and vertical surface mount.
