Image sensors chosen for IP cameras

The OV7725 is a quarter-inch VGA CameraChip sensor built on OmniVision's OmniPixel2 technology for high performance in low-light conditions.

OmniVision Technologies' OV7725 VGA image sensors are being used by Fitivision Technology , a Taiwanese OEM/ODM, in the CS-1000 series of IP cameras.

The CS-1000 series, which incorporates eight different camera designs, is already in production and shipping to a number of OEM/ODM partners under various brand names.

The CS-1000 series of wired and wireless IP cameras is designed to serve the small office home office (SOHO) market with high-performance, low-cost digital surveillance solutions.

The cameras feature simultaneous triple-stream dual Codec Motion JPEG (MJPEG) and MPEG4 video compression with a maximum video resolution of 640 x 480 pixels at 30 frames a second.

The CS-1000 series operates independently of a PC and contains a built-in web server, enabling users to access live images from anywhere in the world via the internet and 3G mobile devices.

The OV7725 can operate at 60 frames per second in VGA resolution.
