The onboard 6bit DAC provides a voltage output of 0.83 to 1.6V, with a tolerance of +/-0.5% over the full temperature range and input range.
The NCP531x devices feature differential current sense inputs for each phase to help ensure signal integrity and noise immunity in the challenged PC layouts.

Trench process slashes MOSFET on resistance
ON Semiconductor has developed a novel trench process technology that it claims on average delivers a 40% improvement in on-resistance when compared with other trench processes on the market today.
They also feature inductor current sensing that provides an accurate, lossless current sense scheme.
In addition to providing two extra phases, the NCP5316 features per-phase current limit and pins that provide a signal scaled to both the total inductor current and the per-phase current.
The NCP5314 is offered in a 32-pin QFN and a 32-pin LQFP.
The device is priced at $1.13 per unit in 10,000-unit quantities.
The NCP5316 is offered in a 48-pin QFN and a 48-pin LQFP priced at $1.18 per unit in 10,000-unit quantities.
For a complete solution the NCP5314 and NCP5316 controllers, along with ON Semiconductor's gate drivers and low voltage mosfets, form a high-performance, high-efficiency Vcore power solution that meets manufacturers' Voltage Regulator Down (VRD) 10.x power specifications.
Applications that need high efficiency can couple these multiphase controllers with the company's new NCP5355 12V gate driver.
For fast switching speeds, the NCP5351 5V gate driver is recommended.
ON Semiconductor's portfolio of mosfets for CPU power applications includes the NTD60N02R and NTD110N02R, that when used for the high- and low-side synchronous rectification configuration, respectively, achieve very high power conversion efficiencies.
To achieve this, the NTD60N02R offers very low gate charge and the NTD110N02R provides extremely low on-resistance.
In fact, the low-side 24V NTD110N02R delivers a typical on-resistance of 3.7mohm at 10V - one of the industry's lowest ratings for a DPAK.
Additionally, it delivers the industry's best figure-of-merit - 170mohm-mC.
