EMI filters arrays with ESD protection

New devices from ON semiconductor deliver maximum filtering performance in minimum size for high resolution displays and megapixel camera interfaces in advanced cellular phones.

ON Semiconductor has introduced four new highly integrated electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter arrays with electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection in thin DFN packages.

Specifically designed for high-speed data interfaces in mobile phones, these four-, six- and eight-channel filters provide superior performance and reliability in a drop-in replacement footprint (1.35 x 3mm) to traditional chip-scale packages.

"Low EMI and RFI susceptibility is essential to achieving robust signal integrity in advanced mobile handset that feature high resolution displays, cameras, Internet access, television and other advanced options?, said Manisha Pandya, ON Semiconductor Director of Portable Applications.

"ON Semiconductor is offering its new filter series in a TDFN package to provide optimal filtering performance with extremely low parasitic inductance and higher reliability in terms of handling and solderability".

"Additionally, the new integrated filters reduce board space by 40% - replacing up to 24 discrete components?.

All the new devices deliver extremely low parasitic inductance (10 to 20pH) due to the TDFN package ground pad.

These devices are capable of attenuating unwanted signals over RF band between 800MHz and 2.9GHz.

Each device features an application-specific cutoff frequency (95 to 110MHz) optimised for LCD and camera interfaces.

The NUF4402 is a low-capacitance four-channel EMI filter with ESD protection designed for filtering signals in LCD display and camera interfaces with a maximum datarate up to 54Mbit/s per line.

It is offered in a TDFN package and priced at $0.25 per unit in 10,000 unit quantities.

The NUF6401 is a six-channel EMI filter with ESD protection that is capable of attenuating unwanted signals at 35dB over radio frequency band between 800MHz and 2.7GHz.

The device is offered in a TDFN package and priced at $0.33 per unit in 10,000 unit quantities.

The NUF8401 is a low-capacitance eight-channel EMI filter with ESD protection designed for filtering data lines in LCDs and camera interfaces with a maximum datarate of up to 54Mbit/s per line.

It is offered in a TDFN package and priced at $0.44 per unit in 10,000 unit quantities.
