High-performance LDOs save cost and
space
Linear regulators offer output voltages down to 0.9V and employ a special composite architecture that provides extremely fast dynamic response to changing output loads.
ON Semiconductor has introduced five new high performance bipolar low dropout (LDO) linear regulators With output currents ranging from 0.5 to 3.0A and industry-leading low noise performance, the new NCP3335A, NCP5661, NCP565, NCP5662 and NCP5663 are ideal for use in networking, computing, set-top box, gaming and display applications

Meritorious performance from N-channel MOSFETs
Continuing the expansion of its portfolio of low-voltage power MOSFETs for switching and power management applications, ON Semiconductor has released a range of new N-channel devices.
These 1 to 3A linear regulators offer output voltages down to 0.9V and employ a special composite architecture that provides extremely fast (less than 1.0us) dynamic (or transient) response to changing output loads.
Delivering industry-leading low noise performance without the need for a bypass noise reduction capacitor, the devices help reduce overall system costs and free up valuable board space.
Providing low ground current independent of output load, these devices reduce power losses.

Trench process slashes MOSFET on resistance
ON Semiconductor has developed a novel trench process technology that it claims on average delivers a 40% improvement in on-resistance when compared with other trench processes on the market today.
In particular, the 500mA NCP3335A LDO can sustain inputs voltages up to 16V and employs a special voltage reference and feedback mechanism that offers extremely tight output accuracies over operating conditions of load, line and temperature.
Output accuracies for all the devices are from sub-1% at room temperature and sub-1.5% across the operating range of line, load and temperature conditions.
The NCP3335A is a 500mA LDO with enable.
It is available with 2.5, 2.85, 3.3, 5.0V and adjustable output voltages.
Offered in a Pb-free Micro8 package, it is priced at US $0.34 per unit in 4000-unit quantities.
This device is also offered in a Pb-free 3 x 3mm DFN-10 package priced at $0.36 per unit in 3000-unit quantities.
Additional voltage options in both packages are in development for release in 2007.
