The fully equipped, state-of-the-art lab is staffed by experienced ON Semiconductor engineers and technicians with the latest in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements related to circuit protection applications.
Their expertise in electrostatic discharge (ESD) and high energy surge transient issues will help customers better evaluate applications prior to formal agency approval.
ON Semiconductor's lab will evaluate electronic components, subsystems or end products through a variety of ESD and surge event tests to establish susceptibility to failure and damage.
Findings on tested components and product performance will be reported back to the customer with suggestions and recommendations on how to better meet the required regulatory standards of compliance.
This circuit protection applications test lab can perform many of the surge tests needed to comply with industry regulatory standards including IEC61000-4-4, IEC61000-4-5, IEC61000-4-11, ANSI/IEEE C62.41, UL864, UL1449, FCC Part 68, ITU Rec K.17, K.20, K.21, K.45 Telcordia GR1089-Core.
In addition to extensive testing capabilities, the lab will support customers with applications trouble-shooting, protection device benchmarking, characterisation and proposals for new protection devices.
"With a circuit protection applications test laboratory in Asia-Pacific, ON Semiconductor is not only geographically closer to its customers, but is now in a position to more effectively provide a variety of testing and consultancy services", says Gary Straker, Director of ON Semiconductor's Protection Products Business.
