Optek Technology has been granted ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) registration by the Office of Defense Trade Controls Compliance, Compliance Registration Division (CRD).

"Many companies are not aware that they need to be ITAR registered in order to provide components to manufacturers in the defence industry", said Alan Bennett, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Optek Technology.

"We decided to pursue ITAR registration because of the increased interest in our defence and aerospace product lines".

ITAR registration is a prerequisite for Optek to participate in significant defence opportunities, Bennett explained.

ITAR registered companies must be reregistered annually.

ITAR and AECA (Arms Export Control Act) were established to regulate the export and import of defence products and services.
