Opulan Technologies has begun production of its first generation chipset, the LMux and NMux, for multiservice broadband access applications such as DSLAM, MSAN and PON aggregation.
As a line card solution the LMux device supports 62 ports and dual LVDS link with transmission rates up to 800Mbit/s.
The NMux device as a network card solution can interconnect up to 16 LMux devices through its 16 embedded LVDS links.
Furthermore, LMux and NMux feature sophisticated traffic management capabilities including weighted round rabin and prioritisation in its powerful packet engine for QoS.
Independently, the LMux device can be used as Utopia bus bridge that extends Utopia bus reach for up to 16m.
"LMux and NMux are the first ASSPs Huawei chose for its MSAN systems from a startup supplier, to my best knowledge", said Li Jian, Vice President of Huawei's Fixed Network Division.
"We picked Opulan for its proven design, satisfactory service and great price-performance ratio".
"Opulan Technologies already achieved design wins and we are talking with more other system vendors".
"We are very proud of our achievement in such a short time frame", said Dr Zheng Liu, CEO of Opulan Technologies.
"The success owes to our expertise established in the past a superior packet engine and advanced QoS capabilities, which is powerful and cost effective for today's convergence applications".
LMux and NMux are generally available and currently shipping in volume.
