Kit jump starts ARM real-time designs
OSE Systems and Enea Realtime have worked together to provide a low cost development platform to enable ARM developers to jump start their embedded projects.
Eric Verhulst, chairman of Eonic Solutions, said, "OSE has always focused on the telecommunication market.
The combination of the Atlas3-G4 DSP system and OSE's robust, fault-tolerant real-time kernel offers designers a fully integrated system solution for telecommunications or safety and mission-critical applications that require software development environment certification".
"Eonic is a partner that really knows about real-time distributed systems", said Thomas Winkler, general manager of OSE Systems.
"Combined with our knowledge of complex high-availability systems, we now have an open platform where a reliable, scalable system is an indispensable requirement.
In addition, Eonic offers its design as an open IP for OEM customers".
OSE is a robust, fault-tolerant real-time kernel offering system designers the highest level of abstraction and portability at the applications level while implementing systems with optimised low-latency drivers for high-bandwidth I/O.
Designers can now create and deploy real-time DSP and multiprocessor applications with minimum overhead while managing the complexities of interprocessor communications.
The typical telecommunications design model, based on processes and signals, is composed of multiple of boards requiring dynamic reconfiguration of the signal flow while running.
OSE's message-based architecture offers a reliable process management and dynamic runtime environment that detects board failures and allows redirection of the communication in milliseconds, eliminating the need to reboot the system or board because of runtime errors.
Eonic's Atlas Signal Processing Computer system was developed specifically to support software driven, hardware independent system design.
It features Eonic's CSPA (communicating signal processing architecture).
A key component is the onboard FPGA, which provides the active communication backbone of the CSPA concept.
The result is a fully scalable and flexible system solution based on open standards for I/O and build-in high reliability support.
Applications cover high-speed laser control, vision systems, sonar, radar, 3G telecommunications systems or avionics applications.
The OSE development license for the Atlas3-G4 is immediately available starting at $8000.
