Otehall Switches is supplying a new range of tilt switches to leading UK rocker switch manufacturer Arcolectric Switches.

Otehall Switches is supplying a new range of tilt switches to leading UK rocker switch manufacturer Arcolectric Switches.

The switches are branded with the Arcolectric name and are supplied worldwide for use as a safety cutout on fan and convector heaters.

The unit incorporates a special 16.1A resistive rated microswitch with light operating force.

A weight is located in the lever as a fail safe in the event that the heater accidentally tips over.

The switch is ENEC approved according to the standard EN61058-1.

Proposed by Arcolectric Managing Director, Howard Cowley as an alternative to other tilt switch methods currently on the market, Otehall's design team were presented with the challenge of ensuring that the switch tripped within specified limits in both directions.

A bespoke lever tool was designed specifically for the application and was manufactured at Otehall's own tooling company to an extremely tight 6 week deadline.

Simon Doran, Director of Otehall Switches says, "The worldwide marketing strength of Arcolectric, and the microswitch solution capabilities of the Otehall design team have produced an ideal partnership and we are optimistic that the product will sell successfully around the world".

Howard Cowley of Arcolectric comments, "We took the decision to work with Otehall not only because they offered us the most economical solution, but also because they did not compromise on product quality or supply reliability".

He concludes, "Otehall also delivered the project well within the target date and we are delighted that customers are already ordering the new Arcolectric branded tilt-switch".
