Oxford's gauges measure paint thickness

An Oxford Instruments Industrial Analysis product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Jan 6, 2009

Oxford Instruments has brought out the handheld CMI153 and CMI250 coating thickness gauges for the paint and powder coating industry.

These devices combine eddy current and magnetic induction technology to automatically recognise the base material and instantly switch to the correct mode for measurement over ferrous and non-ferrous substrates.

The menu-driven CMI153 is an accurate single-button factory pre-calibrated unit.

The CMI250 offers factory pre-calibration and user-created calibration capability, temperature compensation, data storage options, date and time stamp, statistical analysis, USB to PC connectivity and a rotating flip display screen that enables coating measurements to be read at any angle.

These instruments are ideal for measuring the thickness of: industrial coatings, appliance finishing paint and powder coating and automotive and aerospace finishing coating.
