High-speed fibre-optic laser and
receiver

The lasers and detectors division of Pacer Components has announced a new pair of 2.5Gbit fibre-optic components.

The lasers and detectors division of Pacer Components has announced a new pair of 2.5Gbit fibre-optic components The laser diode designated the FU-445SDF and FU-645SDF and manufactured by Mitsubishi are 2.5Gbit uncooled mini-dil DFB lasers for use at 1310nm and 1550nm, respectively

Mitsubishi has renowned narrow line width and wide temperature performance which keeps operating currents low even at 85C.

These lasers output 2mW CW into single mode fibre and are packaged in the popular mini-dil package.

Also released are a compatible series of high-speed fibre optic receivers with the same package style from PerkinElmer Optoelectronics.

The SRZBA and SRZBP series are available in APD (avalanche photodiode) and PIN diode versions, each with integrated silicon pre-amps that offer GBit Ethernet and STM-16 designers high differential output responsivity of 10kV/W and sensitivity of -34dBm at 2.5Gbit/s.

The integral silicon Tz amplifier requires only single polarity supply.

Different pin-out, fibre diameter and connector options are available to offer full application compliance.

The mini-dil package offers a Bellcore qualified robust design with the low cost hermetic 8-pin mini-dil package suitable for automated manufacturing.
