New generation of photon counting
modules
Now available from the Lasers and Detectors division of Pacer Components are a new range of low level light detection units.
Now available from the Lasers and Detectors division of Pacer Components are a new range of low level light detection units that solve an increased number of photon counting and low level light applications Designated the SPCM and CPM series, these modules use a variety of SLIK avalanche photodiodes (APDs) or channel photomultiplier tube technologies

High-speed fibre-optic laser and receiver
The lasers and detectors division of Pacer Components has announced a new pair of 2.5Gbit fibre-optic components.
Low-profile LED arrays for precision illumination
Manufactured by Integrated Photomatrix and available now from Pacer is the Hi-Lyte low-profile illuminator.
Manufacturer PerkinElmer Optoelectronics also now has detector active area diameters ranging from 200um to 15mm.
Dark counts range from 0.1 to 500 per second depending on the size and photocathode material, which also affects the spectral sensitivity required.
The new photo cathode range detects light in the 115 to 900nm spectrum, with particular versions available for UV and near IR spectral enhancements.
Equivalent dynamic range for these products is in the range 10-19 up to 10-12W or 1 to 15 million counts per second.
For users who require detection above this light level, the channel photomultipliers also function in analogue mode, achieving noise equivalent power levels of 2x10-17W.
Typical dark currents are 20pA at Gains of 10 million.
Peltier cooled avalanche photodiodes, offer high quantum efficiencies, and dynamic ranges that exceed 7 decades of light, meaning that these combined capabilities offer users a solution whatever the level of light they need to detect.
Recent developments have bought users easy to use modules for applying their detectors, with integral high-voltage power supplies, output pulse discrimination and voltage conditioning.
In many cases the modules require a simple 5V supply and offer a 0-10V or TTL output. Request a free brochure from Pacer International ...
