Low-profile LED arrays for precision illumination
Manufactured by Integrated Photomatrix and available now from Pacer is the Hi-Lyte low-profile illuminator.
The Aculed device features three primary-coloured LEDs in a single package and can be programmed to display a wide variety of colours.
Each LED has a separate anode and cathode, allowing excellent colour mixing.
The superior white mix is enabled by the close proximity of the individual LED chips.

This LED is suitable for use in a plethora of applications such as architectural, stage and automotive lighting.
It can also be used to provide extra features on the backlighting of transmissive and transflective LCDs.
Other possible applications include vision systems, medical lighting and indoor/outdoor signage and lighting.
The ease with which external optics can be fitted to this module further extends the application opportunities.
The maximum luminous flux values for the red, green and blue LEDs are 27, 41 and 4 lumen, respectively, with dominant wavelengths of 620-630, 515-530 and 455-465nm.
Operating at a continuous 350mA supply current, the Aculed has a maximum electrical power rating of 4.5W.
Exceptional thermal management is provided by the copper board base.
An operating and storage temperature range of -40 to +100C ensures these devices are equally suited to indoor and outdoor use.
Available immediately, the device is housed in a compact 14mm package and supplied on standard 24mm blister tape, allowing the LEDs to be easily used in pick and place machines.
IEC80625-1 safety classification is 1M for the red and green LEDs and Class 2 for the Blue.
Versions of Aculed with 22 and 32-degree viewing angles are in development at the time of this release.
An Aculed evaluation kit is available, with a full range of features including remote control via the provided RS232 serial interface and support for Windows 98/2000/XP.
The kit is ready to use out of the box and comes complete with a heatsink-mounted Aculed all-colour LED and a controller card that provides local storage for current values for each of the three independent colours.
An autoplay mode is also provided that can source a preprogrammed sequence of currents to the individual colour LEDs in the array, controlling the colour and brightness of the mixed RGB output. Request a free brochure from Pacer International ...
