Pacscom has been appointed full service provider for Microwave Data Systems' point-to-multipoint scanning radio products in the UK and Channel Islands.

Pacscom, the Southampton-based specialist in cableless communications technology, has been appointed full service provider for Microwave Data Systems' point-to-multipoint scanning radio products in the UK and Channel Islands.

Announcing this significant development, Pacscom's Sales and Marketing Manager Mike Knights said: "Pacscom's extensive experience in this market and local skills base combined with MDS' high performance networked radio products will be a powerful proposition, unrivalled within the UK".

Pacscom will be maintaining an evolutionary approach to product support in keeping with its established policy of customer care for its installed base.

The company fully expects existing Pacscom (Communique) customers to continue operating current networks with the CMD400 and CMX9700 family well into the future, and these products will continue to be supported.

Knights continued: "Greenfield projects or clients wishing to migrate to the MDS range of products and take advantage of the exciting features that they offer will be able to do so with the minimum of disruption".

Microwave Data Systems manufactures advanced high performance radio networks for use in continuous scanning applications or event-type systems and are particularly appropriate for extending IP network functionality out to remote data locations.

The ease of seamlessly linking information from simple remote plant or switchgear through to top level corporate management networks is one of the key features of the MDS family.
