Alkaline batteries boost performance
New batteries promise continuous, reliable energy supply, low self-discharge, excellent protection against leakage and superior performance at lower temperatures.
Smaller sensor compensates for camera shake
Two-axis sensor is based on Panasonic's own piezoelectric MEMS tuning-fork technology, and can also be used in automotive applications.
As a result, the system can be wall- or ceiling-mounted, allowing manufacturers to minimise installation space while maximising productivity.
The VR004 delivers repeatable path accuracy of 0.1mm and offers maximum axis rotation speeds of 400deg/s to ensure high-speed positioning of either process equipment or components.
Flexible system expansion options allow up to 12 external axes, while compatibility with Panasonic's Panadice manipulators allows for enhanced productivity.
As standard the new robot is supplied with a full digital and parameter-calibrated interface for communication with a range of inverter MIG/MAG welding power sources and both AC and DC TIG machines.
Integrated software that includes tactile sensing and process monitoring functionality ensures that a wide range of process requirements can be accommodated.
In addition, handling and 'palletising' software is also available.
As with all of the systems in the Panasonic robot family, the VR004 is compatible with the company's Desk Top Programming and Simulation (DTPS) software.
This software provides the facility for true offline simulation and programming for optimised flexibility and efficiency.
The VR004 is complemented by Panasonic's new compact 'G Controller', which has been designed to simplify installation and peripheral integration.
Measuring just 600 x 420 x 500mm, this system is 50% smaller than previously available controllers.
