Panasonic Factory Automation has expanded its family of compact modular placement machines with the launch of the new high-accuracy, modular style, CM301 multifunction chip mounter.
Offering high levels of configuration flexibility, the new system combines tact times of as little as 0.63s per component with dimensions of just 1625 x 2405 x 1430mm to provide maximum productivity with minimum machine footprint.
The new CM301 incorporates a dual-beam, four-head system with high-resolution line sensor vision system to deliver a mounting accuracy of +/-0.05mm.
Ideal for a wide variety of PCB manufacturing requirements, the machine will handle the full range of components from 0201 chips to 50mm2 micro-BGAs, CSPs and connectors with dimensions of up to 100 x 90 x 21mm.
Designed for flexible production, the CM301 will accept components from tape, tray, bulk or stick feeders.
The twin-tray feeder option maximises productivity by allowing component replenishment during production, eliminating downtime caused by parts exhaust.
Feeder input configurations allow for up to 54 tape components and 40 tray locations dependent on version.
The CM301 can accommodate PCBs ranging in size from 50mm2 to 460 x 360mm and has a board loading time of as little as 3.5s.
A colour touch-panel that can be set for different operator levels ensures ease of use and minimum configuration time.
