The Milan-based company will now form part of the Electromechanical Division of Parker's Automation Group.
The Italian market for motion control equipment is the second largest in Europe.
It accounts for about 20% of the total European market, which is currently worth in excess of $1,770 million.
According to Nigel Allman, Managing Director of Parker's Electromechanical Division, "The acquisition of SBC is a particularly important part of our European business strategy.
The company's brushless servo drives and motors span a wide power range with torques from 0.2Nm to 90Nm, and mesh well with our existing product portfolio, with very little overlap.
We are now positioned to increase our market share significantly, within both Italy and the European arena as a whole, where servos now account for around 70% of the motion control market.
Parker has also gained a manufacturing base producing world-renowned servomotors, and this will enable us to enhance our market position worldwide". Request free introductory details about products from Parker Hannifin Electromechanical Automation ...
