Palmchip's PalmPak fast SoC development platform (PALM DP-1050) is now available on the Virtual Component Exchange (VCX).

Palmchip's PalmPak fast SoC development platform (PALM DP-1050) is now available on the Virtual Component Exchange (VCX) VCX, which was formed two years ago, is the first Internet-based, regulated trading exchange floor for semiconductor IP

"VCX provides an innovative and valuable environment for companies such as Palmchip, that develop, license or sell semiconductor IP", said Melissa Jones, vice president of marketing, Palmchip Corporation.

"We believe VCX will help increase the efficiency of IP exchange by streamlining and simplifying the negotiation, contract and transaction processes".

"We're pleased to see the active participation of leading-edge IP suppliers such as Palmchip in the VCX.

There is a real value to sellers in uploading their product offerings to our listing.

Not only can they utilize the transaction services and tools but they also make their IP very visible and accessible to a wide variety of potential qualified buyers", said Andy Travers, CEO of the VCX.

"As the VCX continues to expand, it will become an even more valuable channel and significantly reduce the time and effort it takes companies such as Palmchip to complete a transaction with their customers".

The PalmPak fast SoC development platform is an embedded SoC design product, based on Palmchip's CoreFrame integration architecture, that serves as a development vehicle for more complex SoC devices.

The platform contains all of the peripheral functions required for a basic SoC, including system and watchdog timers, programmable I/O, and interrupt and memory controllers.

In addition, the PalmPak platform contains a 16450-compatible UART, which may be used for software debug, system monitoring, or data upload and download.
