Polamco has enhanced its range of rectangular adapters with a new and versatile backshell series that suits all standard options of the popular D-subminiature family of connectors.

Polamco has enhanced its range of rectangular adapters with a new and versatile backshell series that suits all standard options of the popular D-subminiature family of connectors These rectangular backshell accessories are machined in one piece from solid aluminium, providing robust protection to the connector cable terminations, and are available in the five standard shell sizes accommodating 9, 15, 25, 37 and 50 contacts

The full range provides options of shielded or nonshielded, straight, angled, extended and low-profile forms, together with a comprehensive selection of plating finishes.

Standard versions have a depth of 30mm with a plating finish of electroless nickel to MIL-C-26074 class 4, grade B.

Production in a choice of materials may be specified to suit all types of application including, for instance, plastic, stainless steel and nickel aluminium bronze.

In addition, Polamco offers an in-house bespoke design and manufacturing facility that provides rapid-turnaround of prototypes for special product requirements.

These one-part adapters are inherently robust and may provide reliable performance in the most demanding of applications with the minimum of weight increase, which in particular will support their use in defence, aerospace, communications and industrial electronics applications.
