In a very compact package, Papst's 712F fan offers high airflow, minimum noise and long life expectancy.

The combination makes the fan ideal for use in applications such as CPUs - especially the new P4 processors - and other high-pressure/low-space applications including projectors, power supplies and small electronic devices.

The fan has been designed to exhibit a pressure resistant performance curve that is ideal for use in computers, and it is fully protected against reverse polarity, blocking and overloading.

A low noise level of 38dB(A) is recorded in free air.

Operating from a nominal voltage of 12V, the 712F accommodates a voltage range of 8 to 13.8V at 1.7W.

The fan runs at a nominal speed of 5300rev/min, providing a maximum flow rate of 44m3/h.

Measuring just 70 x 70 x 15mm, the low-profile fan employs a high-efficiency DC electronically commutated external rotor motor with all drive electronics completely integrated into the fan hub.

Exhibiting versatility, the fan is suitable for use in any mounting position.

Assuring long life and reliability, the 712F employs field proven Papst sintec bearing technology.

Accordingly, service life for the 712F is a high 60kh at 40C, and 30kh at the higher temperature of 70C.

The fan is able to operate over an ambient temperature range of -20 to +70C.

Electrical connection to the fan is via two stripped and tinned leads, and tacho functions are included.

Protection against humidity is to IP20, with an optional OR version offering improved humidity protection.

Construction of the fan uses glass-fibre-reinforced plastic with a PBT housing and PA impeller for a low weight of just 53g.

The 712F is now available from Papst.

24V and alarm versions are available on request.
