Featuring a special design of spiral housing, the RL65 radial blower offers the advantages of a low noise performance combined with a very compact size.

With its outstanding size/performance ratio, the blower offers benefits to designers and end users in a wide range of applications where this combination is desirable.

Such applications are found in telecomms, storage systems, high-end electronics with high levels of integration, photocopiers, induction hobs, motor cooling, power supplies, projectors, test equipment and window fans.

The DC blower operates from a nominal 12V DC (8-12V DC) supply, and consumes 12.5W of power.

The RL65 features an electronically commutated external rotor motor that has been proven and performance tested in ebm-papst's successful Megafan series 600 fans.

For safety and longevity the unit features electronic protection against reverse polarity and overloading, and simplifying integration with host/control equipment, the blower can be supplied with tacho and alarm outputs.

With the ability to be used in current designs, ebm-papst's RL65 uses an industry standard footprint, but offers a performance that often exceeds similar competing products.

The unit's noise performance is given as 64dB, and it operates at a nominal speed of 4600rev/min, providing a maximum flow rate of 55m3/h.

A wide temperature range of -20 to +70C is accommodated.

At 40C ambient temperature the blower's service life is 60kh.

Physically, the blower is configured with its radial air exhaust through the housing port, and for ease of assembly the unit features integrated snap-in fins.

Electrical connection is via two (four for alarm and tacho version) prestripped and tinned leads, and the blower's mass is just 170g.
