SDR operating environment runs on Integrity RTOS

PrismTechT and Green Hills Software have announced an SCA-compliant Software Defined Radio (SDR) operating environment running on the Integrity real-time operating system (RTOS).

PrismTech and Green Hills Software have announced what they claim is the smallest and fastest Software Communications Architecture (SCA)-compliant software defined radio (SDR) operating environment (OE) running on the secure, reliable, Integrity real-time operating system (RTOS).

PrismTech's Spectra OE was created by experienced SCA and SDR developers who combined their expertise with advanced technology and superior COTS packaging to deliver a truly next-generation SDR solution.

Spectra OE is SCA v2.2.2-compliant and includes a core framework, high-performance embedded ORB middleware, XML parser and CORBA object services in a ground-breaking consolidated footprint of less than 2Mbyte.

Green Hills Software's royalty-free Integrity is the only RTOS to date to be certified conformant to the latest IEEE POSIX.1-2003 specification, key to supporting both the SCA v2.2 and v2.2.2 API.

To date, Integrity has been used on more SDR programs that depend on the SCA v2.2 and v2.2.2 interface than any other RTOS.

Built for security, reliability and performance, Integrity provides CPU time, memory, and file-system resource guarantees for critical radio applications and SDR waveforms.

Its brick-wall partitioning ensures that applications and waveforms always have the resources needed to run and cannot corrupt other applications or waveforms that are executing.

Integrity's virtual device driver support provides added security and reconfigurability required in SDR devices.

PrismTech and Green Hills Software can now offer SDR and SCA product-development teams a combination of Spectra OE with Integrity, the JTRS RTOS of choice, delivering the most viable, high-performance, small-footprint OE available for today's demanding SDR designs.

PrismTech's Spectra SDR Developer Suite is also fully integrated with the Spectra OE running on Integrity to provide a seamlessly integrated suite of SCA waveform modeling, code generation, test and deployment development tools.
