High-current PXI switches use solid-state relays
Range contains eight modules configured as fault insertion, SPST relay, multiplexer and matrix switches at 10A/200V and 30A/40V.
Switching module handles high current and voltage
PXI power relay module provides 24 SPST switches each capable of switching currents up to 4A and hot switching voltages up to 250V AC.
Each switching module supports a matrix with up to 264 crosspoint switches organised as a 33 x 8 matrix and can switch signals up to 150V, 1A and 60W.
PXI switch matrix applications can satisfy very cost sensitive functional test requirements.
The 40-581 has been designed to minimise the cost to the user of purchasing and maintaining their switching solution.
Each module can be purchased as a partially loaded version to reduce the initial purchase cost.
In addition, the modules come already configured at the requested size of matrix, so the user does not need to purchase additional terminal blocks and spend time configuring and testing the matrix.
The module is constructed using high reliability electromechanical relays that are particularly suited to more robust loads than lower power signal matrixes.
Maintenance down time is minimised through the use of leaded relays in preference to difficult to service surface mount devices.
Repairs can be easily carried out by any competent service engineer without risking damage to other relays or having to return the module back to the manufacturer's factory or service centre.
The 40-581 is fully supported by Pickering's extensive range of connector, cable and breakout accessories, allowing users to generate a single order for covering all their switching and connectivity solutions.
Shaun Fuller, Switching Product Manager, commented: "The 40-581 1A two-pole matrix module yet again illustrates Pickering's commitment to maintain a substantial lead in the PXI switching market by constantly innovating and outperforming all competing products".
