The PE4274 is a CATV switch for broadband applications that boasts the industry's highest isolation.

The PE4274 is a CATV switch for broadband applications.

Designed to exceed the strict FCC15.115 regulations, this 75ohm device offers the industry's highest isolation of 80dB at 250MHz and 70dB at 750MHz.

A unique design feature allows the device to maintain its isolation levels even in the unpowered state, which is one of the more stringent requirements of FCC compliance for CATV to antenna isolation.

"The PE4274 highlights Peregrine's ability to deliver leading-edge RF ICs providing innovation and exceptional value to the broadband industry", said Jim Cable, Peregrine's CEO and President.

"The product was developed in unison with the DTV, TV and DVR industries and has received excellent traction with engineers designing for these end products".

"Further, the high-performance UltraCMOS process technology foundation has made the PE4274 a viable solution for other types of broadband applications", he added.

PE4274 features high IIP3 (55dBm at 5MHz-1GHz); high IIP2 (80dBm at 5MHz-1GHz); CTB of -90dBc; and high ESD tolerance of 1.0kV HBM.

The device also offers a unique "terminated" and "closed" unpowered modes making it ideal for any DTV, TV, DVR or set-top box where reflected signals in the off state can distort local images or for DVR and gaming platforms where the CATV signals must pass through the unit when unpowered.

The PE4274 is available in the 4 x 4mm 20-lead QFN package and is priced at $2.46 each in 10,000-quantity orders.

Products samples and volume production are available now through Peregrine and its worldwide distribution partner, Richardson Electronics.
