All the standard functions of a PC on a DIN rail
Now available from PEP Modular Computers is the Rotec VisionCompact range of cost effective PCs mounted on a DIN rail, which integrate all the standard functions of a PC including fieldbus interfaces
The advantage of this process is that apart from achieving a high level of software independence, the effort required for porting to other operating systems is much simplified.
The CP671 has been particularly targeted at industrial I/O applications and comes with support for Windows NT and VxWorks, Tornado 2 with full plug and play functionality.
It has been specifically designed to address all the mainstream requirements of industrial control applications ensuring compatibility with most of the readily available off-the-shelf software tools and utilities.

cPCI Pentium board integrates more functions
The integration density of CompactPCI boards has been increased by a single-height CPU board that features two Fast Ethernet channels, a host of standard PC interfaces and up to 512Mbyte SDRAM.
The CP671 provides economical interfacing of various I/O functions including analogue I/O, digital I/O and watchdog function on a versatile and rugged double-height, single-slot board using industrial-type connections.
The CP671 features eight digital optoisolated input channels, each 24V, 5.5mA nominal with an edge frequency of 2.5kHz and eight digital optoisolated output channels with 24V nominal external voltage supply at front, 500mA each channel and with output protection for short-circuit, overtemperature, overload and underload.
The six differential analogue input channels have 12bit resolution and automatic permanent cyclic polling while the four single-ended analogue output channels have 14bit resolution and permanent output.
These optoisolated inputs and outputs have a range of +/-10V with an edge frequency of 15kHz.
There is a programmable watchdog with hardware interface for external control and relays for safety functions.
The watchdog opens NC relay contacts on error condition.
The watchdog delay is adaptable under software and supports system crash and power down errors.
The CP671 is based on solid and reliable technology that guarantees fail-safe operation in an industrial and potentially noisy environment.
Whether configured for input or output all analogue and digital I/O connections are made to the front panel and 5.3mm Wago cage-clamp terminals provide rugged industrial connections.
This board has a 32bit 33MHz CompactPCI interface, features an isolation voltage of 1000V from the system and is available in extended temperature range versions.
