Tobin joins the board

Michael Tobin, Chief Executive Officer of the London, UK-based TelecityRedbus Group has joined Pentadyne's Board of Directors.

Michael Tobin, Chief Executive Officer of the London, UK-based TelecityRedbus Group has joined Pentadyne's Board of Directors.

TelecityRedbus is the leading independent provider of colocation, managed data centre, hosting and connectivity services in Europe.

The company specialises in designing, building and managing business-critical web infrastructures to help companies reduce the cost, complexity and risks associated with maintaining web and online environments.

TelecityRedbus has facilities in London, Manchester, Milan, Amsterdam, Paris, Stockholm, Dublin and Frankfurt, has over 300 employees and is host to over 2000 customers, many of which are global brands.

Three years after joining TelecityRedbus in 2002, Tobin was named number 31 of Britain's "Top 50 Entrepreneurs".

Also in 2005, Tobin and the company won the "Business Turnaround of the Year 2005" in the London Business Awards.

Following TelecityRedbus' September 2006 acquisition of the hosting and internet network infrastructure leader Globix UK, Tobin was named Private Firm Technology CEO of the Year at the recent UK Technology Innovation and Growth Awards 2007.

The title is awarded annually to the one individual that drives the success of the UK's fastest growing technology companies in the previous year.

Last week, at the Data Centres Europe 2007 Awards ceremony, Tobin won the "Outstanding Leadership in Data Centres" award and TelecityRedbus was named "Best Pan-European Data Centre".

Prior to joining TelecityRedbus, Tobin was Managing Director of Fujitsu Corporation's Frankfurt operations, General Manager of ICL Fujitsu Services in Copenhagen, and International Business Development Director at the Paris-based GlobalServe, a leading European consortium of systems integrators.

Tobin also worked with a Paris-based US manufacturer of multiprocessor Intel SuperServers and with other computer and robotics companies.
