NMS Communications is using the IPnexus CPC5400 and CPC4416 embedded Ethernet switches in its MyCaller mobile services offering MyCaller provides a unique opportunity for mobile operators to generate instant revenue from new services such as personalised ringback tones

Ringback tone service replaces the traditional ring sound a caller hears when placing a call with customised music, sound clips and other media.

IDC estimates the downloadable ringback market to be $1.5 billion.

An in-network, end-to-end solution, MyCaller delivers world-class content, provides reliable management and is built on state-of-the-art technology.

"In order to offer our customers best-in-class solutions, we partner with the industry's top application and technology providers", said Brian Demers, Vice President, Mobile Products Strategy at NMS Communications.

"Performance Technologies is a true industry innovator, and the company's packet-based IPnexus products provide us with the scalability and flexibility we need to future-proof our solutions and get them to market in record time".

Performance Technologies' IPnexus embedded Ethernet switches offer a powerful switching solution for high availability, carrier-grade IP telephony products.

When used in platforms such as MyCaller, they offer increased reliability and performance gains of up to 40 times that of conventional open-systems architectures.

"The ability to offer enhanced, revenue-generating mobile communications services is increasingly driving demand for solutions like MyCaller", said Jean Pierre Filion, Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Performance Technologies.

"We're pleased to be working with NMS on their latest products to help satisfy this demand".
