Embedded Ethernet switches outstrip PCI versions
The IPnexus CPC4411 and CPC4416 embedded Ethernet switches join the broadest and most comprehensive embedded Ethernet switch offering in the industry.
By deploying these devices, network operators can provide competitive, revenue-generating services to customers while realising significant cost savings - all without sacrificing quality of service.
Using the Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) and Performance Technologies' field-proven SS7/IP software, SEGway link replacement devices ensure the same high level of reliability when transporting messages over IP as with traditional methods.
"Citic 1616 provides world-class carrier services, and we are constantly in search of solutions that will allow us to expand our service offerings without increasing network costs", said Sutton Cheung, General Manager for Citic 1616.
"With Performance Technologies' SEGway devices, we are able to quickly and reliably expand our network coverage while continuing to provide optimal service availability".
"This capability is crucial to survival in today's competitive telecom market".
Performance Technologies' carrier-grade SEGway 1100 device is small and compact, occupying only 1U rack space.
SS7 transport cost savings associated with the device tend to be significant, particularly from the edge of networks where dedicated 56Kbit/s circuits must be provisioned despite the fact the SS7 traffic may often be insufficient to fill a complete circuit.
"Citic 1616 is truly a world leading carrier's carrier", said Martin McFadden, vice president of Asian sales for Performance Technologies.
"We look forward to continuing to provide signalling and embedded platform solutions to Citic for years to come".
