Performance Technologies has introduced the latest addition to its NexusWare family of value added software components, supporting the company's broad line of embedded products and platforms Performance Technologies' new NexusWare ISM is a Linux-based software suite and development environment designed specifically for the company's shelf management technology

Linked with the CPC7301 intelligent shelf manager, NexusWare ISM software forms a key element in the company's advanced managed platform offering, allowing customers to easily develop and integrate their application with the intelligent system management functions included in Performance Technologies' broad range of embedded platforms.

"Original equipment manufacturers using integrated embedded platforms to implement their products and systems often focus on customising the features and operation of the system management as a means to assure high availability for the overall application", said Tony Romero, Product Manager for Performance Technologies.

"Leveraging the flexible and scalable architecture of the CPC7301, NexusWare ISM allows developers to adapt the ISM software to their unique environment and extend or add new functionality to the CPC7301, while minimising development efforts and ultimately accelerating time to market".

Performance Technologies' CPC7301 ISM is a Linux-based management processor module with up to 70% CPU bandwidth available for third-party applications when running in a baseline configuration.

With NexusWare ISM, programmers familiar with Linux can easily modify the standard settings of the CPC7301.

Users can edit startup scripts, customise initialisation, set IP addresses and add or modify utilities.

Using the APIs included in NexusWare ISM, developers have programmatic control of specific aspects of the CPC7301's behaviour, heightening their ability to create their own solutions and accelerate their time to market.

NexusWare ISM includes a preported Linux Kernel with standard debug tools, boot image utilities, embedded tools and APIs.

It has a one-time site licence fee of $14,995, and an annual maintenance program is available for $4500, which includes customer support and software upgrades.

NexusWare ISM is available immediately.
