Mindray Engineering Technology is using Performance Technologies media and voice processing solutions for its softswitch solution.

Performance Technologies has revealed that Mindray Engineering Technology (MET) is using the company's media and voice processing solutions for its softswitch solution MET is a leading provider of voice over IP (VoIP) solutions that combine the reliability and high quality of traditional voice communication with the flexibility and extensibility of IP and packet transmission

MET's best-of-breed solutions allow users to place calls to any telephone or Internet-enabled PC in the world.

MET has integrated the Performance Technologies' UniPorte media and voice processing software and MTN2300 DSP resource card with its iCall serial software, which is the call-processing component based on the MET softswitch solution.

MET iCall serial software extends IP telephony capabilities to devices such as IP phones, VoIP gateways and multimedia applications.

"Our mission is to offer cost-effective, high-performance solutions for the world's expanding VoIP requirements", said Yu Xiaoli, Vice President of MET.

"We considered many different vendors for our iCall solution, and Performance Technologies' field-proven media and voice processing products offered us the functionality and reliability we require".

Performance Technologies' MTN2300 leverages the UniPorte software, which provides voice, fax and data processing for all ports, on a call-by-call basis.

The UniPorte media and voice processing solutions set new industry benchmarks in density, low power consumption, port cost and overall system cost and functionality, all key factors in the evolving VoIP market.

For OEMs, choosing to integrate the rich feature set of the UniPorte solution provides the necessary product development time to focus on the value-added elements within their applications.

"In today's marketplace, OEMs and integrators are looking to accelerate designs and reduce risk by utilising outsourced subsystem components".

"Our UniPorte software and MTN2300 provided MET with reductions in development costs as well as a shortened time-to-market", said Martin McFadden, Vice President of Asian Sales for Performance Technologies.

"MET has an impressive reputation, particularly in the Asian market, and we are happy to be partnering with them on this solution".
