Tortorello takes on global role

Performance Technologies has appointed Michael F Tortorello as its Vice President of Worldwide Sales.

Performance Technologies has appointed Michael F Tortorello as its Vice President of Worldwide Sales.

Overseeing worldwide sales activities, Tortorello will help lead the drive for expansion into new geographical markets and strengthen the company's leadership in the telecommunications, defence and homeland security, and commercial markets.

Tortorello has more than 25 years of experience in technology and communications, with 15 years of experience in senior sales and management roles for network and compute platform and software providers in the communications industry.

He has worked as a Senior Sales Executive with Nynex, SynOptics Communications (acquired by Bay Networks and later Nortel), Sun Microsystems and Veritas (acquired by Symantec Corporation).

Tortorello has led successful sales and business development teams for carriers, telecommunications equipment manufacturers and management service providers, successfully managing annual sales quotas over $250 million.

Tortorello is based in the company's headquarters in Rochester, New York.
