Carrier board adds interfaces for COM Express
The Universal Lite carrier board combines all the interfaces commonly found on today's basic computing platforms in an affordable off-the-shelf product.
New from PFU Systems, the Universal Lite carrier board combines all the interfaces commonly found on today's basic computing platforms in an affordable off-the-shelf product.
The Universal Lite carrier board is designed to eliminate the design risk and much of the remaining cost in developing an embedded solution.
"The inception of the computer on module (COM) concept promised faster time to market and lowered design costs through the use of a compute module that only required the design of an application appropriate carrier board", says James Payne, PFU's Manager of Embedded Marketing.
"The introduction of the COM Express PICMG standard applied that concept to the latest technologies and further reductions in cost through competition".
"Now the availability of the Universal Lite carrier board completes the picture of lowered cost and time to market".
The Universal Lite carrier board is a COM Express basic form factor carrier board in a 162.56 x 116.84mm footprint.
It provides standard connectors for easy access to COM Express compliant interfaces such as SATA, IDE, LVDS LCD, CRT, LAN, USB and audio with the stringent quality standards that the industry has come to expect from PFU.
The Universal Lite carrier board is designed for ease of use and priced at a fraction of the module cost to simplify the creation of an embedded platform with drastically reduced deployment time and cost.
