PolarFab and Silvaco are to provide mutual customers with analogue process design kits that result in higher design productivity.

PolarFab and Silvaco are to provide mutual customers with analogue process design kits that result in higher design productivity.

These kits are developed for leading PolarFab processes, supporting Silvaco circuit simulation and IC CAD tools.

"We are confident in Silvaco as a focused leader in analogue EDA solutions,'' said Dennis Gaetano, Vice President of Marketing for PolarFab.

"Offering Silvaco analogue design kits as a developmental tool for our analogue and mixed-signal processes is in keeping with both our companies' dedication to a customer-comes-first philosophy.'' "PolarFab is well known for its bipolar and BiCMOS processes for power management applications, solid design kits and excellent customer support", said Kenneth Brock, Vice President of Marketing for Silvaco.

"In certifying Silvaco analogue design kits, PolarFab demonstrates its broad support of customers' choice in industry-leading analogue design tools".

PolarFab offers a broad range of high performance bipolar and BiCMOS processes and wafer manufacturing technologies for analog and mixed-signal products.

Geometries range from 1.25-micron to 4-micron for bipolar processes and from 0.35-micron to 1.5-micron for BiCMOS processes.

Silvaco analogue design kits enable designers to exploit the capabilities of PolarFab's advanced semiconductor processes in the early design stages.

Accurate and reliable Spice parameters and models are the first and most critical step to achieving first-time correct silicon, shorter design times, optimum semiconductor performance, lower development costs, reduced risks and ultimately faster time to market.

Schematic symbols, rule files and layout technology files enable immediate designer productivity when using a new silicon process.

Currently, SmartSpice models and Scholar schematic symbols for the PolarFab bipolar BP30 process are available from PolarFab.

Complete analogue design kits will be available in Q2 2003 through PolarFab after completing verification and quality assurance procedures.
