PolarFab has promoted Gregory A Peterson to Chief Executive Officer and President.
Peterson, who joined the company in 1986 when it was VTC, started as a treasurer/controller, was promoted to vice president and CFO in 1989, and became executive vice president and CFO of VTC in 1998.
When the company was renamed PolarFab in 2000, Peterson was appointed President, COO and CFO before being named President and CEO.
In 1990, Peterson orchestrated a buy-out of VTC from Control Data Corp.
As a result, he and Larry Jodsaas, PolarFab's Chairman, became sole owners.
In 2000, Peterson led the sale of VTC's preamplifier chip business to Lucent Technologies, resulting in the company's name change and a refocus in the organisation's strategic direction to being a pure-play foundry business.
Stated Jodsaas, "Greg Peterson's unique combination of industry knowledge, leadership skills, and experience have served the company exceedingly well in the past.
His vision for excellence will continue to help PolarFab provide its customers with a level of service and technical expertise that is unmatched in the industry".
Earlier in his career, Peterson spent six years with Peat Marwick Main and Co (now KPMG Peat Marwick), Minneapolis, MN, where his client portfolio included public and private companies from startups to a Fortune 500 subsidiary.
He also played a significant role in the unique startup and acquisition that led to the formation of VTC in 1984.
Peterson is a University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management graduate, with CPA certification.
He resides in Eden Prairie, MN, with his wife and two daughters.
