Cadence Design Systems and PolarFab have confirmed final acceptance of the Cadence-developed process design kits (PDKs) for PolarFab's proven ABC/RFBC analogue BiCMOS processes.
By combining designs from multiple companies or multiple designs from one company and running them together in PolarFab's state of the art fabrication facilities, PolarShuttle allows designers to quickly test specific design blocks before conducting a full engineering run.
PolarFab runs its most popular processes on the PolarShuttle program at least three times a year, and each run includes both the 6 and 8in wafer processes available from PolarFab.
The 2004 tape-out schedule has now been published on the company's website.
PolarFab performs all of its manufacturing in 6 and 8in wafer fabrication clean room facilities, which comprise 6300m2 of the company's overall 20,000m2 facility.
Reservations for a PolarShuttle run are accepted up to four weeks prior to the tape-out schedule for each process.
Samples are available in prototype packages or as bare die.
Pricing for wafer fabrication in the PolarShuttle programme depends on customer requirements.
