CMOS devices up performance for less
power
Modular 0.35-micron 8in Polar35 process with 3.3 V CMOS devices improve circuit performance while using less power and real estate for analog intensive functions.
PolarFab, the only US-owned, pure-play analogue and mixed-signal semiconductor foundry, now offers its modular 0.35-micron 8in Polar35 process with 3.3V CMOS devices that improve circuit performance, while using less power and real estate for analogue intensive functions, when compared to 5V devices The new PMOS and NMOS devices can be substituted for 5V CMOS devices in any Polar35 device suite, including CMOS only, analog CMOS, BiCMOS, or c/BiCMOS

30V BiCMOS process has designs on smart power
PolarFab's PBC4 0.5-micron BiCMOS process has been qualified for volume production.
The devices also feature a relatively high BVDSS value to withstand switching transients found in many power management applications.
PolarFab's Polar35 process is used for several types of smart power applications such as motor drivers, power interface drivers, and power regulations circuits, for the computing, consumer, industrial, and communications markets.
The process features a full set of passive devices for analogue design, including a high sheet rho poly resistor and a monolithically integrated high density poly-poly capacitor, allowing greater flexibility in design when compared to traditional 0.35-micron digital CMOS.
The new 3.3V CMOS devices ease the interface with the 3.3V digital ICs found in many of today's applications.
In addition to the new devices, preliminary Monte Carlo mismatch models for Spectre and PSpice are now available for most of Polar35's devices.
The new models will help to optimize analogue and mixed-signal IC performance and create shorter design cycles, significantly reducing time-to-market.
A new dogbone fuse with a passivation opening that blows faster and with less energy than the bowtie style fuse has been incorporated into the process.
Qualification of the 3.3V CMOS devices is expected in the third quarter of 2005.
The Polar35 design tool kit (Cadence PDK, models and design and layout manual) has been updated to include the 3.3V CMOS devices, Monte Carlo models, and dogbone fuse, and is available for immediate download on PolarFab's secure customer access centre.
Pricing and delivery is dependant upon customer requirements.
