PolarFab has incorporated high power lateral DMOS devices into its popular Polar35 process family.

PolarFab has incorporated high power lateral DMOS devices into its popular Polar35 process family The new Polar35 LV process, which features modular 5V analogue CMOS as well as 7 and 12V power device suites, employs a modular device and mask approach that gives designers the ability to optimise their design for performance versus cost

In addition, designers can reuse design IP across many product families.

Manufactured on 200mm wafers, the Polar35 LV process is optimised for high-performance circuits in a broad range of integrated consumer and power management applications that require a supply voltage of up to 12V, such as motor controllers, DC/DC convertors, buck/boost controllers, a variety of drivers, and battery management/supervisory ICs.

The new Polar35 LV incorporates an advanced design that offers low specific on-resistance (Rsp) of 15mohm2mm2 (N-channel) and 55mohm2mm2 (P-channel) MOS devices at the 12V node, reducing die size.

In addition, the process incorporates stacked via placement, enabling increased packing density.

The comprehensive device set of the new process includes a full set of passive components for analogue design to help maximise design flexibility.

Specific devices include a 3kohm/square poly resistor, monolithically integrated high density 2.25 or 1.1fF/um2 poly-poly capacitors, as well as a zero temperature coefficient (ZTC) resistor.

The 0.35-micron design rules of the new process enable dense digital blocks for higher levels of integration for smaller 5, 7 and 12V switches.

Polar35 LV also incorporates silicon proven, space-efficient ESD protection solutions for efficient design qualification, reducing time to production.

Designers can take advantage of PolarShuttle, PolarFab's multiproject, fast track programme for quick turnaround.

Polar35 LV comes with a fully documented design tool kit, including scalable models and p-cells, a Cadence process design kit (PDK) and design and layout manual, as well as a wide range of modelling platforms including Spectre, PSpice, and HSpice.

Monte Carlo mismatch models are also included.

Pricing and delivery is dependant on customer requirements.
