High security for smart card MCU family
Philips Semiconductors describes SmartMX as the world's first ultra-low-power cost-optimised high-performance family of smart card controller ICs.
The DE200 reference design is a highly integrated and cost effective "bolt-on" solution that bridges the gap between analogue and digital reception in both LCD and CRT TV products.
By making use of NXP's IBOLinkTM hardware and software interface, Chinese TV manufacturers can easily adapt their existing analogue TV chassis designs to meet the growing demand for digital TVs both in the UK (using MHEG 5 standard) and in mainland Europe.
"Europe will overtake the US with regard to digital TV penetration by the end of 2010, with almost 69% of European households having made the transition to digital services", said Adrian Drozd, Senior Media and Broadcasting analyst at Datamonitor.
"This growth will, in part, be fuelled by the choice of high definition television sets available, with price and quality being the main buying criteria for European consumers".
"The DE200 reference design is easily adaptable, with built-in European broadcast standards and short development cycle, making it very attractive to our Chinese customers", said Alun Whittington Jones, Regional Marketing Manager, Greater China, NXP.
"With the explosive demand for digital TVs, OEMs and ODMs need cost effective system solutions with rapid time to market and low bills of material".
"The DE200 is helping our Chinese customers offer just that".
