Phyworks has appointed Matthew Cui as Vice President of Business Development in Asia, to establish and expand business in the Greater China region.

Phyworks has appointed Matthew Cui as Vice President of Business Development in Asia, to establish and expand business in the Greater China region.

In addition, Dr Xu Wang will support Cui from Phyworks dedicated worldwide technical support centre based in Bristol, UK.

Cui brings more than 10 years of progressive sales management and business development experience in international markets.

Mostly recently he worked with Vitesse Semiconductor Corp, as Director of Asia-Pacific Sales.

Prior to Vitesse, Cui was the Regional Sales Manager for Asia-Pacific with JDS Uniphase Corp through its acquisition of SDL in 2000.

Cui holds an MBA in marketing and finance from Oral Roberts University.

Dr Wang joins Phyworks from Bookham Technologies, where he spent over three years as a Senior RF Engineer.

Dr Wang specialised in the development of XFP, SFP and MSA transponders.

Prior to Bookham, he spent three years as a research assistant at the University of Kent, in England, where he obtained his PhD in electronics engineering for his work in injection locked pulsed optical lasers.

He holds an electronics engineering degree from the Tsinghua University in China.

Dr Wang is a native speaker of Mandarin.

"With our leadership position in EDC technology for 10Gbit/s over multimode fibre and 1 to 4Gbit/s (PMD) devices, such as highly integrated laser drivers, post amplifiers, digital diagnostics and TIAs, we have a great deal to offer both the existing and growing number of customers developing optical products in the Asia region".
