Conference focuses on printed RFID technology
The Global Issues for Printed RFID Conference is the first of its kind to focus solely on the developments, challenges and issues involved in this emerging technology.
RFID has already been used for many years in many different applications, such as aircraft, automotive and even farm animals, but has recently attracted attention due to the falling costs of printed electronics technology and the possibilities this is opening up for commercially viable mass production.
With one US company estimating completion of a fully printable organic RFID tag by the end of the year and aiming for commercial production within two to five years, it is clear that the questions surrounding the implementation of printed RFID are not ones of "if" but "when".
With the drive to bring costs down to the less than 5c per tag, developing printing capabilities whereby conductive inks allow for the printing of RFID directly onto packaging is a huge priority and one which is progressing rapidly.
In the not so distant future pack intelligence and item level tagging will not just be a possibility, it will a reality.
Intertech-Pira's Global Issues for Printed RFID conference is the first of its kind to focus solely on the developments, challenges and issues involved in this emerging technology.
From an overview of the current RFID market to the specific technologies and materials involved, implementation case studies and the inks, printing and production angle, global experts and industry leaders will take delegates through all the important developments and future possibilities.
The conference will be held on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th June 2006, at the Holiday Inn, Regents Park, London, UK.
A 10% discount is available for registrations made before 28th April 2006.
