EL displays target Asian markets

Pelikon has opened a dedicated sales office in Hong Kong to develop and support its Asian customers.

Having recently opened its first office in the USA, Pelikon is now turning its attention to the vast potential for its products in Asia.

Pelikon has opened a dedicated sales office in Hong Kong to develop and support its Asian customers.

Pelikon Asia will be led by Edwin Shiu, who has extensive experience of component sales in the region.

Pelikon's range of pSEL displays and innovative drive electronics are already familiar to a number of Asian manufacturers who subcontract for American and European suppliers of white goods, appliances, and electronic products.

However, Pelikon is keen to work locally with these manufacturers, and with new customers, to address the huge opportunities for EL technology, particularly in China, Korea and Japan.

Commenting, Edwin Shiu says: "The market for EL products in Asia probably exceeds that in either Europe or the Americas, both in industrial and consumer applications".

"Our technology makes a wide range of products easier to use and visually more appealing, benefits as important in Asia as they are anywhere else".

Hugh Baker-Smith, Pelikon's Director of Sales and Marketing added: "By offering local support to Asian manufacturers, we will help them to exploit this opportunity more effectively by getting to market faster with higher quality products".

Pelikon's pSEL displays are less than half a millimetre thin, and are suitable for home appliances, consumer electronics, mobile phones, control panels, and a wide range of industrial applications.

They can be cut and shaped to fit innovative design parameters, but are cost competitive with alternative technologies.

The products are robust and well proven, with well over one million units already delivered to customers worldwide.
