A novel controller module incorporates all Pelikon's EL control technology including its segment driver ICs, dedicated microcontroller and power supply components.

Pelikon, the world leader in the manufacture of printed, segmented electroluminescent display technology (pSEL), has launched a controller module that incorporates all its EL control technology including its segment driver ICs, dedicated microcontroller and power supply components Pelikon's Interface Display technology combines all the user interface benefits of touch screens with the design appeal of segmented EL, making products both easier to use and more visually appealing

The controller module controls 32 segments and allows the brightness of each segment to be individually controlled.

The number of segments can be increased by attaching additional 16 segment blocks.

A serial protocol within the controller module allows an application microcontroller to change the display image, start and stop animations and configure display parameters with ease.

With a 64 button keyboard interface, capacitance and ambient light sensors, an entire interface display can be controlled with one simple to integrate package.

Integrating all Pelikon's drive and control technology in a standard component, the controller module, which measures just 64 x 35 x 10mm, is a standard platform, low risk component suitable for large and small appliances as well as industrial, medical and consumer products.
