These benefits follow the introduction of Pirelli Telecom Cables and Systems Sirocco blown fibre to Krone's PremisNET structured cabling solutions portfolio.

Damian Tracey, Managing Director of Pirelli Telecom Cables and Systems UK who signed the deal with Krone late last year pointed out: "The Sirocco blown fibre system extends the PremisNET offering with flexibility, cost deferment and a simple migration path from copper to fibre or from standard fibre to enhanced grades supporting Gigabit Ethernet, 10Gigabit Ethernet and beyond".

Krone's Fibre Market Manager, Steve Webster, said "We added blown fibre to the PremisNET portfolio at the end of last year so we could offer every type of fibre solution together with every type of copper solution.

We have been building steadily with Pirelli and our partners throughout our channels to market.

Product is in place with Krone distributors holding stocks of Sirocco system components and Krone PremisNET partners and associate installers trained and holding installation equipment".

The Sirocco system is also covered by Krone's 20 year PremisNET warranty as long as it has been installed by a trained Krone Associate Installer or PremisNET Partner.

Sirocco infrastructure products fulfil all conditions of the British Telecom License.

Together with Krone's highly successful plastic patch panel, fibre outlets, patchcords and pigtails - Krone's Sirocco in PremisNET solution gives customers an upgradeable and reconfigurable network for today and the future.

The Pirelli Sirocco products offered through Krone and its partners include single-mode and multimode fibre bundles of two, four or eight fibres, the complete range of blown fibre tubing (one, two, four, seven, 12 or 19 subunits for indoor, duct and direct burial applications), a full range of accessories as well as the blowing equipment and training of staff to effectively and safely install the product range from end to end.
