A new slot-in I/O card adds an onboard fault insertion capability for Pi Technology AutoSim SSC hardware-in-the-loop testers.

A new slot-in I/O card adds an onboard fault insertion capability for Pi Technology AutoSim SSC hardware-in-the-loop testers.

The FIC fault insertion card is a nonstandard PiAutoSim I/O card.

It is only suitable for use in special slots in chassis units designed to accommodate it (such as SSC top slot).

If offers the ability to interrupt the signal on 16 separate channels under software control.

Each channel may also be connected separately to one of four fault rails.

Connecting two channels to the same fault rails would provide a loom short, for instance.

Additionally, these fault rails may be conditioned externally to the chassis or connected to the SSWCOM input or ground internally under software control.
