Pixelmetrix has a new family of interface modules ideal for CATV operators using QAM modulation.

Pixelmetrix has a new family of interface modules ideal for CATV operators using QAM modulation.

The new units combined with the existing ASI and other interfaces, enable all aspects of CATV system operation to be monitored.

The set of three QAM interface modules provide real time RF monitoring of key RF performance parameters according to ITU-J.83 Annex A (DVB-C), Annex B (N America), and Annex C (Japan).

Full support is provided for constellation display of QAM16 through QAM256.

The module includes a full QAM demodulator meaning the full power of DVStation's MPEG-2 transport stream and automatic on-air content validation can be combined with RF monitoring within a single unit.

Available for both the 21-slot flagship DVStation platform and the four-port DVStation-Remote system, the new product is fully compatible with other Pixelmetrix interfaces including QPSK, DVB-T/COFDM and ASI.

The combination of different interfaces within a single chassis provides cable operators full visibility of their operations from initial acquisition of program content, encoding and multiplexing, and finally, to delivery to the cable plant or head end.

Both DVStation and DVStation-Remote offer full control from any number of remote locations over a WAN using a standard web browser, VNC or X-Window client, or SNMP network management system.
