Line-interactive UPSs are popular because they provide a very cost-effective solution to the problem of power protection.

A typical line-interactive installation is less than half the cost of an online solution.

However, until now, systems have been cumbersome, inflexible and not easily upgradeable.

PowerKinetics' 9003 RM is the first line-interactive system available to offer modularity and redundancy, with fully hot-swappable modules.

The rack-mounted 5U system comprises two or more 400VA modules, to a maximum capacity of 1.6kVA.

These modules use PowerKinetics' patented Multi-Master technology, which offers the highest form of modularity.

Each module can support up to 400VA load with battery runtime of approximately 5min at full load condition.

The 9003 RM is totally configurable.

The required number of modules are assembled in an n+x configuration within an intelligent cabinet to provide sufficient power protection and redundancy level to cover the load.

As the modules are fully hot-swappable; the user can decide on the power protection required and then populate the cabinet accordingly.

If the requirements change, then modules can be added or removed as required, with the critical load being redistributed among the available modules.

The standard 19in 5U rack-mount design ensures that the 9003 RM is very compact.

The US9003 provides full communication facilities via an RS232 serial interface, and can also allow full SNMP management via PowerSoft Suite Software or NET036 SNMP adapter.
